Introduction of the Office of Development and Coordination of Research Centers:
The establishment and activity of research centers are key and practical solutions to strengthen the research capacity of faculties and educational groups of universities of medical sciences. By the end of 2016, 6 centers with definitive approval and 13 centers with principle approval are operating in Hamadan University of Medical Sciences. A significant group of university professors and elites of the country have been gathered in these centers to provide an appropriate response to the health needs of society by expanding priority research.
The activities of numerous approved centers and the establishment of new centers show the need to organize and strengthen the centers and coordinate their activities more than ever. These activities are under the responsibility of the ''Coordination Office and Development of Research Centers''. The research and technology vice-chancellor follows the official establishment of this office in 2016, intends to more coherently pursue the following goals:
- Facilitating the process of establishing new research centers
-Increasing the quantitative and qualitative activity of research centers and strengthen their research base
- Directing research centers to respond more to the health needs of society
- More coordination of research centers to conduct interdisciplinary research
- Strengthening research competition between research centers
- Periodic written evaluation and its improvement
PhD by Research/Technology-Oriented
The PhD by Research/Technology-Oriented course is one of the highest levels of graduate education, leading to the awarding of research/technology-oriented doctorate degrees. It is a coordinated collection of basic or applied research activities with the aim of producing science and expanding the boundaries of knowledge.
The specialized research/technology-oriented doctorate course (Ph.D. by research/Technology-Oriented) is held in the equipped and qualified research centers of the university that have received the relevant license from the Council for the Development of Medical Sciences Universities after qualifying at the Ministry of Health's Research and Technology Vice-Chancellor.
