Urology and Nephrology Research Center, affiliated to Hamedan University of Medical Sciences is located in Shahid Beheshti Hospital of Hamedan, adjacent to Urology Department. The center started to work since 2008 with the participation of affiliated and expert faculty members from different groups of Urology, nephrology and biochemistry who are working on kidney and urinary tract diseases.

Renal and genital tract diseases and infections are common in human societies, and due to the increased involvement of the male genus, especially in the middle age, which is susceptible to the care of the family, and due to the recurrence of a wide range of these diseases, in addition to the imposition of annual costs on the family, it also affects the quality of life of the affected individuals. Therefore, due to the high prevalence and widespread of these diseases, the decision to establish a center for neurology and urinary tract research for solving these problems and achieving the most effective treatment options, was taken.

 This center performs basic and practical research on: 1. Urinary tract stones, 2. Cancer of the genitourinary system (kidney, bladder, prostate, testicular), 3. Kidney transplant, 4. Infertility of men, 5. Urinary tract infections, 6. Urinary incontinence, 7. Impotence
