Nursing and Midwifery Research Center of Hamadan University of Medical Sciences and Health Services which is the first research center on maternal and child care research with nursing and midwifery approach; started to work in 2009, in three aspects of fundamental, development and practical researches . The macro strategies of this center are: realization of being knowledge centered in the field of maternal and child care with nursing and midwifery approach, preparation and compilation of rich and functional databases, institutionalization of the basis for using research results in order to achieve evidence-based care, and translate and transfer knowledge to the field of practice.

The founders of this center, with 50% of midwifery and 50% of nursing colleagues, set up this research center to be engaged in research activities in four areas of nursing and midwifery as: the knowledge-based institutionalization of education, research, management, and clinical and practical services. The Pyramid of the Founding and Full-time Faculty members is composed of 1 professor, 4 PhDs, 1 Ph.D student and 2 masters. The Center believes that by encouraging and supporting researchers to produce knowledge, science and promotion of the health of the community, through the appropriate strategies in its strategic document, can take a step  in line with the goals of the   perspective of the year 2025.
